compassion

“Compassion is sometimes the fatal capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.” ~ Frederick Buechner

There are many things I could say on this subject. There are many things I have said on this subject. So, as Easter draws near. As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. I ask again that you consider the chocolate you purchase before you purchase it. Please buy chocolate that is Fairly Traded. Yes, that means that you may not get the cute bunnies. Please consider the children in slavery to pick the beans that are purchased by Nestle, Hershey, Dove, etc. Because, my friends, nothing say the Kingdom of God is coming, the Kingdom of God is here... Nothing says, Happy Resurrection, like chocolate harvested by little children in slavery.

Lord may the prayer of Frederick Buechner be the cry of my heart. May this be the cry of our hearts. I pray that we are truly changed and that we may seek to change this world. Come, Lord Jesus come...
